Did you know you only have a 20% chance each month of getting pregnant? (this percentage is based on women who are not charting their ovulation, temp etc). Pin-pointing ovulation is the first step if you are trying to conceive as this will help you to try at peak times. For most women it does not happen immediately. There are a number of outside factors involved which could be the reason why you can't get pregnant.
These include things such as smoking, drinking alcohol, drinking in excess tea and coffee, lack of exercise, stress, trying too hard (not giving the sperm chance to recharge), not trying enough.
If you have been trying to conceive for 12 months and are under 35 then speak to your doctor but only wait 6 months before seeing your doctor if you are over 35 (I went to see mine last week). If you happen to be over 40 and cant get pregnant talk to your doctor immediately. Don't leave it any longer than this before you speak to your doctor if you cant get pregnant. From the age of 35 fertility starts to decline, this is medically speaking. Although there has been a rise in women choosing to have babies later in life. It seems the fashionable thing to do nowadays.
