The annual Met Costume Institute Gala 2011, which took place on May 2, 2011, attracted many hot A-listers of Hollywood and the world fashion. Honorary chairs of this event were François-Henri Pinault and Salma Hayek while co-chairs were Colin Firth, Stella McCartney, and Anna Wintour. Wearing exquisite designer gowns and the latest trends in hair styles and beauty, celebrities arrived at the important event with stunning looks.

Particularly, the 2011 Met Gala had few red carpet McQueen moments to honor late designer Alexander McQueen and marked the opening of the latest exhibition entitled “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty”.

The celebrities opted for Alexander McQueen pieces including Daphne Guinness in a feathery dress, Gisele Bundchen in a red, floor- sweeping, strapless gown and Naomi Campbell in a white floor-sweeping gown. This year’s gala will kick off the Metropolitan Museum of Art's "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" exhibition that is scheduled to showcase from May 4 through July 31, with roughly 100 pieces.
