What If You Were Allergic?

Spring is very soon approaching! We're already feeling the effects of it here in Florida. Yes, the pollen from the trees has covered all, and sinus medication has become my good buddy as my husband and myself have been sneezing like crazy. It is unfortunate that the medication my doctor gave me have pseudoephedrine in it, and as I am trying to go to sleep, my heart starts racing, and it's not easy to sleep when you can hear it thumping in your ear!

I'm allergic to several meds. There are many antibiotics I cannot take. My husband and I went out to a beach bar one evening with a girlfriend of mine that wanted to go on a "double" date with us. She had just met this guy who was a pharmacist, and wanted him to meet us. It, it was a last minute type thing but we agreed. As soon as we got there, he volunteered to go get the drinks. Now my husband and I do not normally drink alcoholic beverages since they tend to make us tired. We are more energy drink addicts. For some reason, a rum runner just sounded really good that night. Well, I had told my hubby he was going to drink most of it, I just wanted a few sips.

After only a few sips, I started to feel kinda strange. I gave the drink to my hubby and told him that I am such a light weight, the drink was already affecting me! He was going to have to drink the rest. Suddenly I started feeling helpless, the only other way I can describe the way I felt was that it seemed as if my head was in a cloud! My hubby started to feel the same way! We were just sitting there like two bumps on a log listening to the band, completely out of the conversation that they were having! We could see them off to the side just having a great time. We told them we were not feeling so well, so I suppose they just left us alone. She left with Dave, and Rich and I left together. We told them not to worry about us, we would be fine.

My husband does most of the driving when we go out anywhere together. That night, he just handed me the keys and started to SNORE in the passenger seat! Rich doesn't snore, nor has he ever slept in a car! I honestly don't know how we made it home. We didn't even think to go to a clinic to get tested since we were so disillusioned. Rich remembers trying to look at the alarm clock when we got home, and he said the time was just bouncing up and down, he couldn't even see it! Yes, we were drugged. Not sure if it was the pharmacist who might have been perturbed that Angel wanted to make it a double date...it could be mere coincidence. Now we know from experience to always keep an eye on our drinks, and never let anybody else get them for us. We could have died!

There was just a woman who put some tranquilizers in her boss' coffee! You can't trust anybody in the workplace. She was arrested and is being held on a $25,000 bond. Lucky for him, he found out who did it! Luckily he was not allergic to the medication that was slipped in his drink!
